چکیده

In this paper we present a rather general hybrid system made of deterministic differential equations and random discrete jumps. We then show how to construct a simulation of such a stochastic hybrid system that provides perfect samples of its asymptotic behavior. The applicability of the method is illustrated by showing how this framework can be used to model the Squirrel peer to peer system and by reporting a simulation study based on this approach. This paper provides both a general framework on how to carry simulation based experimental studies of large and complex hybrid systems and its application in the Squirrel model demonstrating how versatile and powerful this approach can be over a typical example. Perfect Simulation of a Class of Stochastic Hybrid Systems with an Application to Peer to Peer Systems

In this paper we present a class of hybrid systems made of deterministic differential equations and random discrete jumps. We then show how to construct a simulation of such a stochastic hybrid system that provides perfect samples of its asymptotic behavior based on the extension to continuous state-space of coupling-from-the-past techniques introduced by Foss and Tweedie (1998) and using suita...

Coupling from the Past in Hybrid Models for File Sharing Peer to Peer Systems

In this paper we show how file sharing peer to peer systems can be modeled by hybrid systems with a continuous part corresponding to a fluid limit of files and a discrete part corresponding to customers. Then we show that this hybrid system is amenable to perfect simulations (i.e. simulations providing samples of the system states which distributions have no bias from the asymptotic distributio...

TAC: A Topology-Aware Chord-based Peer-to-Peer Network

Among structured Peer-to-Peer systems, Chord has a general popularity due to its salient features like simplicity, high scalability, small path length with respect to network size, and flexibility on node join and departure. However, Chord doesn’t take into account the topology of underlying physical network when a new node is being added to the system, thus resulting in high routing late...

Application of Stochastic Programming to Determine Operating Reserves with Considering Wind and Load Uncertainties

Wind power generation is variable and uncertain. In the power systems with high penetration of wind power, determination of equivalent operating reserve is the main concern of systems operator. In this paper, a model is proposed to determine operating reserves in simultaneous market clearing of energy and reserve by stochastic programming based on scenarios generated via Monte Carlo simulation ...

A Genetic Programming-based trust model for P2P Networks

Abstract— Peer-to-Peer ( P2P ) systems have been the center of attention in recent years due to their advantage . Since each node in such networks can act both as a service provider and as a client , they are subject to different attacks . Therefore it is vital to manage confidence for these vulnerable environments in order to eliminate unsafe peers . This paper investigates the use of genetic ...
